We currently accept all major US credit and debit cards, including reloadable gift cards. To be used through Shipt, these cards must have a three digit CVC code, usually located on the back of the card.
At this time, Shipt cannot accept store gift cards or Target REDcards, and the Target REDcard 5% discount cannot be applied to Shipt purchases.
Due to current USDA restrictions, Shipt is unable to accept EBT cards – we apologize for the inconvenience.
The two charges that tend to appear on your account are the pre-authorization hold and the remaining balance charge.
When you place an order through Shipt, your card will be temporarily authorized for the requested order total plus a little bit extra, in case you need to make any changes or add items to your order. Once your order has been delivered we will send you a digital receipt.
If your order’s total exceeds the pre-authorization amount, you will see a separate charge reflected as “Shipt Remaining Balance Order #”.
If your order’s final total is lower than the pre-authorization amount, our system will automatically refund the difference. You will only be charged the final total reflected on your receipt from Shipt.
In-app tips may also show up as a separate charge. This will be displayed as “Shipt Gratuity Order #”.
The final charged amount will always reflect the cost of the items that you receive. There are several reasons that this charge could be more or less than the original total at checkout.
• Special Requests - we won't know the cost of these items until the shopper finds them in the store
• Out of stock items - items that are out of stock in the store will be removed from the order, reducing the final charge.
• Substitutions - if the item you requested is out of stock and an adequate substitution is selected by the shopper, you will be be charged for the price of the substituted item
• Added Items - items added to your cart after checkout will not be reflected in the original total
When you place an order through Shipt, your card will be temporarily authorized for the requested order total plus a small allowance for substitutions or special requests on your order. Once your order has been delivered, you will receive a digital receipt and will only be charged for the items you received.
If the final price for your order is more than the original checkout total you may see the remaining balance captured on a second charge. This often results from price adjustments from special requests, items added after placing an order, or item substitutions.
In-app tips may also show up as a separate charge.
A Shipt credit is an in-app balance that will automatically be deducted from the next order you place with Shipt.
You will see this at checkout as Shipt Credit Applied in the breakdown of charges for your order. You may also view your current balance at any time by viewing your Account.
Due to legal restrictions, Shipt credits cannot be applied toward the purchase of alcohol.
To earn credits, spend the amount required by a promotion. A progress bar will appear at the top of the screen to help you track your progress once you start adding qualifying products to your cart. Any credits you earn will be applied to your account once your order is fulfilled.
You can find promo offers in the app or listed every week in our Exclusive Savings email newsletter. You can also earn Shipt credits through our referral program, membership offers, and special promotions throughout the year.
There are two ways to check your credit amount:
Select Account in the top right corner of your app. Directly underneath your account information, you will see your Available Credit listed.
Alternatively, add the items you’d like to order to your cart and proceed to checkout. At the end of checkout, you will see your credit balance listed in green as Shipt Credit Applied, and the dollar amount will automatically deduct from your total.
Shipt credits are automatically applied to your next order. At check out, you’ll see your credits appear in green in the breakdown of charges as Shipt Credit Applied.
Please note that Shipt credits cannot be applied to delivery fees or converted to Shipt Passes. While Shipt credits can be applied to orders containing alcohol, they cannot be applied to alcohol* items.
*You must be 21+ and have a valid ID to order and/or receive alcohol.
If it's a Visa or a similar reloadable gift card, then yes!
Otherwise, we can only accept debit or credit cards in the app.
Unfortunately no, all payments must be made in the app with a debit or credit card.
You can view all of your itemized receipts on the Your Orders screen.
Digital coupons may be offered through all retailers on Shipt, which you can apply to your order with just one click. They are exclusive e-commerce savings that may not reflect in-store deals, and vice versa.
Your delivery fee will be calculated before coupons are applied, so the full price of items will count toward the $35 free delivery minimum.
Coupons don’t affect shopper pay – they’re just another way to get more savings with Shipt.
Each item can only qualify for one coupon and cannot be applied to multiple promos on Shipt (e.g. Spend, Get deals).
If a qualifying item turns out to be out of stock, the coupon will unfortunately not be applied. However, if a portion of the items are in stock, part of the coupon will still apply (e.g. If you use a Buy 2, get $2 coupon and there’s only 1 available, you will get $1 off). If an item was previously out of stock and added to a new order before the expiration date, the coupon will be automatically reapplied.
