The two charges that tend to appear on your account are the pre-authorization charge and the remaining balance charge.
After you have placed your order, a pre-authorization charge is placed on your account. This amount is the expected cost of your order.
If your order’s total exceeds the pre-authorization amount, you will see a separate charge reflected as “Shipt Remaining Balance Order #”.
If your order’s final total is lower than the pre-authorization amount, out system will automatically refund the difference. You will only be charged the final total reflected on your receipt from Shipt.
There is another charge that can appear on your account. This is the amount given to your shopper as the optional tip. This will be displayed as “Shipt Gratuity Order #”.
The final charged amount will always reflect the cost of the items that you receive. There are several reasons that this charge could be more or less than the original total at checkout.
• Special Requests - we won't know the cost of these items until the shopper finds them in the store
• Out of stock items - items that are out of stock in the store will be removed from the order, reducing the final charge.
• Substitutions - if the item you requested is out of stock and an adequate substitution is selected by the shopper, you will be be charged for the price of the substituted item
• Added Items - items added to your cart after checkout will not be reflected in the original total
When the final charge for your order is more than the original checkout total you may see the remaining balance captured on a second charge. This often results from price adjustments from special requests, items added after placing an order, or item substitutions.
In-app tips may also show up as a separate charge.
A Shipt credit is an in-app balance that is automatically counted towards your next Shipt order.
For example, if you have a $5 credit added to your account, $5 will be deducted from the total of a future order at checkout.
The easiest way to earn Shipt credits is through promotional offers on Shipt.
You can also earn Shipt credits through our referral program, membership promos, and other special promotions offered throughout the year.
Earning credits through promotional offers
When you’re shopping within a promotion, the promotion progress bar at the top of the page tracks your progress, and fills up as you get closer to earning your next credit.
When you qualify for a credit and place your order, you’ll receive a confirmation at checkout. Credits are applied to your account once the order has been fulfilled – this may take up to 48 hours.
Keep in mind that if an item is out of stock or substituted with a non-qualifying item, it may affect the credit you earn. Credits expire 90 days after their issue date.
There are two ways to check your credit amount:
Place an order and proceed to checkout. Your credit balance will be listed in green as Shipt Credit Applied, and the dollar amount will be automatically deducted from your total.
Contact our 24/7 support team and we’ll be happy to confirm your credit balance – we’re available via live chat on the Shipt website, by email at email@example.com, or by phone at (205) 502-2500.
Shipt credits are automatically applied to a future order. It will be listed in green as Shipt Credit Applied at checkout, and the dollar amount will be deducted from your total automatically.
