• Can I order alcohol?

  • We offer alcohol delivery in select cities from a variety of retailers. If you are in the coverage area for this service, beer, wine, and spirits may be available for delivery. A $7 delivery fee may be applied to alcohol orders from select retailers.

    Please note that you must be 21 or older with a valid ID to place or receive an alcohol order. Due to state and federal regulations, our shoppers are legally required to confirm the recipient of an order with alcohol is 21 or older by reviewing a valid ID at delivery, regardless of the recipient's apparent age. The recipient must also sign for the delivery on the shopper's phone.

    Valid Forms of ID:

    • Driver’s license or identification card* from any US state or Puerto Rico.
    • Temporary driver’s license or identification card with a photo and scannable barcode.
    • US passports**
    • US military IDs**

    
    Shipt will not be able to honor a request for alcohol on a “dry” order (an order that does not already include alcohol). If you'd like to have alcohol delivered after you've already placed a dry order, please place a new order for the alcohol.

    *In North Carolina, out-of-state identification cards cannot be accepted as a form of ID. 

    **US passports and US military IDs cannot be scanned with the Shipt app, so they will need to be manually verified before completion of the order. 

    ***Shipt and shoppers with Shipt are required to follow each state's specific laws and regulations for alcohol delivery, which may include order limits. Alcohol delivery is prohibited to college campuses (including dormitories and other on-campus housing), military bases, correctional facilities, high schools, middle schools, elementary schools, daycare centers, places of worship, and ABC licensed premises. If you live in a zip code within proximity to a prohibited area, alcohol delivery may be restricted.
