We currently require our shoppers to be at least 18 years of age, have a reliable vehicle that is no more than 15 years old, have valid car insurance, and a valid U.S. driver's license.
Shipt Shoppers must have an insulated cooler bag, a working knowledge of groceries, the ability to lift 25+ pounds, and an iPhone(iOS 8 or newer) or Android(4.4.2 or newer).
Additionally, all applicants must be authorized to work in the United States and are subject to a thorough background check before they begin shopping.
It should be noted that payment for Shipt Shoppers is processed via direct deposit; all shoppers must have a bank account to accept deposits.
Unfortunately, our system does not support shoppers using rental cars while working with Shipt. In order to meet our requirements, you do need to be driving a reliable vehicle that is no more than 15 years old, is not a rental, and for which you are insured.
You do not have to own the car you drive while shopping with Shipt. However, you do have to be insured on the policy that covers that car. If you are not an insured driver on the policy for a car, you cannot use that car while working with Shipt.
Unfortunately, there is not a way for us to share the areas that are in need. Our need changes daily, which makes sharing this type of information very difficult! As soon as a position becomes available in your area, we will reach out to let you know.
You can expect an email and text from our recruiting team as soon as a position becomes available! We evaluate the performance of every area in which we deliver on a weekly basis. As soon as we see an opportunity for more shoppers, we'll reach out to continue the onboarding process!
The amount of time it will take to get started varies by location. It could be anywhere from a few days to a few weeks (or sometimes, a bit longer than that). Rest assured that our recruiting team is working very hard to get everyone started as soon as possible!
Our current hiring process assures our active shoppers will have ample opportunity to claim orders when they are available. At this time, we hire on an as-needed basis. This can lead to a slight waiting period if all need is currently being met. We cannot move any shopper through under a position is available for them, but we promise to reach out as soon as we can to move you forward.

If you are certain every field has been filled, then one of three issues may be occurring.
1) Phone Number - This field accepts only numeric values and will not accept any dashes, dots, or slashes. Please check to make sure you are entering your phone number in the following format: ##########
2) State - This field must be submitted as the state abbreviation. You can find this in the drop-down menu, or you may type it in yourself. Please check to make sure your state is abbreviated.

Unfortunately, we cannot change or add a zone on your application. To allow for equal opportunity for all applicants within the areas they have chosen to apply, it is Shipt's policy to retain your application for the area you initially selected. We will hire you for that particular zone, but you will be able to shop in any of Shipt's zones once you are an approved Shipt Shopper! We evaluate our need for new shoppers weekly so we will reach out to you with the next step as soon as a position becomes available.
Don't fret! There is no need to submit a second application for another area (we currently don't accept second applications anyway). When assessing our needs, we take your surrounding areas into consideration as well! If we have a position available in an area near you, we will contact you immediately.

We obtain various consumer reports for independent contractors in compliance with state and federal employment laws. This comprehensive background check is performed through a national third party vendor and includes searches of multiple federal databases. We currently use a third-party service called Checkr for our background checks.
Currently, our policies do not allow for second applications. While we understand this may lead to some frustration, we cannot make any exceptions at this time.
